While studying in college, Trisha ventured into part-time modeling, to take part in various beauty pageants. She won Miss Salem in 1999, Miss Chennai in 1999 and Miss India Miss Beautiful Smile in 2001.
Trisha first appearance in the Tamil film Jodi, 1999, as a character supporting role, she won a Filmfare Award for best female debut for his first leading role in the 2002 film Mounam Pesiyadhe. Later rose to fame after starring in the hit film, Saamy (2003) and Ghilli (2004) in Tamil cinema and Varsham (2004) in the Telugu film, which he secured his first South Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
